Ohio Man 02:51

In 2013 ShiSho celebrates 9 years as a band and their first proper studio release, The Sisters EP. "In 2004 the first song we ever recorded was Punk Rawk Boy, a crazy rendition of the Dead Milkmen's Punk Rock Girl. It's an honor to have the Dead Milkmen join us on this record." says Vivian Ramone.

"For two siblings raised on Moldy Peaches singalongs, Sisters is expectedly equal parts whimsical, jilted fairy tales and often hilarious commentary both wide-eyed and wiser, like your hip older family members who just started collecting vinyl twice their age. Because Vivian and Midge have." - Nikki Delamotte

" melding the stream-of-conscious lyrical patterns of folk-punk, the smart-pop composition reminiscent of They Might Be Giants, and winkingly bad puns and geek culture references, they’ve created something very original." - The Tour Volume

"The lyrics are zany, and the music is perky. The fourth song, The Dead Milkmen Song, features the Dead Milkmen in person. One listen, and it’s easy to see how the Ramones ended up on the Dr. Demento show in 2012." - Ear To The Ground Music

"Hailing from Akron, Ohio (home of Lebron James and The Black Keys) ShiSho are real life sisters (Vivian and Midge Ramone), aged 16 and 13. They’ve been recording together for 9 years. Yeah, I know. I want to hate them. I really do. But they are just too damn good. At first their songs are adorable and cutesy girly pop with accordion, guitar, and ukulele. “The Dead Milkmen Song (featuring The Dead Milkmen)” consists mostly of lyrics from Dead Milkmen songs, which immediately makes your own children seem inferior." - If It's Too Loud"

The Sisters EP was recorded over spring break 2013 near Nashville, Tennessee, at the Green Lodge Studio and was produced by Phantom Farmer.

ShiSho released the EP on their youngwave imprint Magnetic Bunny Arts.

In 2007 Magnetic Bunny Arts released the Seaside Summer Compilation as a youngwave fundraiser for Callum Robbins and in 2011, "Rock The Tradition" as youngwave fundraiser for Akron, Ohio's All American Soap Box Derby. The Sisters EP is the third official Magnetic Bunny release.

ShiSho Kent, Ohio

If They Might Be Giants and Kimya Dawson had baby daughters whom they powdered regularly with Joe Jack Talcum, they'd grow up to be ShiSho.

Real-life sisters Vivian and Midge Ramone are the art band ShiSho from greater Akron, Ohio. At 16 and 13 years old, the girls have been writing and recording for 9 years. ShiSho performs their own brand of quirky indie pop on accordion, guitar and ukulele.
